  1. No new version?this is Amazing!

    • Hey. I haven’t touched TEA for a while now, I have a couple new things (widescreen support, better performance etc.) but not so much new content. The project is suspended for now due to lack of time and motivation to do stuff, particularly graphics.

      • Hey, I just uploaded my own “2h” mostly full showcase on almost all demo’s of this game on my Youtube Channel.
And have added it to my own website as well as i archive games there.
And i just have a question, if this game has any unreleased content that can be showcased like levels or other etc.
As i showcase never released or other stuff as well.
If not or this game is still planned to come out fully one day then that’s fine.

  2. Can’t seem to download. Whenever I click on the link I’m always at a page that says “error 403”

    • It says “Click here to download the game”, click the “here” part. It will link to an archive on copy.com where you can download it.

  3. Very good! i can’t wait to play it finished

    • Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I don’t think there ever will be a finished version, but we’re slowly putting stuff together for a new release.

  4. Umm… I’m not getting any sound effects (e.g. jump/Spin Dash sounds) in my game… what’s the problem?!

    • If you get music, but no sound: make sure Sound is set to On in options, which you can access from the main menu or by pressing F11 on the first screen when you launch the game .exe. If it’s already on, I have no idea…

Great game so far, but what’s the story?

  6. a question, as they did to change the resolution of the game in full screen mode?

    • Hi. Yes, I changed the game resolution both in window and fullscreen modes in the December 2015 update. TEA is now a 16:9 game. Its window size is now 426×240 (will be 427×240 in the newer release, whenever that comes).
Starting with version C2, the game also defaults to borderless fullscreen mode, which means it stretches the game window to fill the entire screen without changing your desktop resolution.
In C1 and C2 (when the game was still 4:3) there was a “320×240” option that actually switched your desktop resolution to 320×240. However, since the game is now using 16:9 aspect ratio, this option no longer works properly. Also, I don’t like how this option behaves on modern computers with large resolution screens. So it will be (actually already has been) removed in a future build.
Technically it’s not very difficult for me to compile a separate 4:3 version of the game that uses true fullscreen and 320×240 resolution – in fact, I always double-check if new stuff in the game works in both 16:9 and 4:3 modes. However, there have been no comments about it or requests for a 4:3 version, so I decided not to make one for the time being. I think most people use 16:9 screens nowadays, and support for 4:3 aspect ratio isn’t something a lot of people want.
I will probably compile a separate 4:3 EXE when TEA version C3 is ready.

Another question, do you have the 3D engine they used for the special stage?

      • Umm yes, because I coded it. I’m not interested in releasing its source at the moment, but I may release a Special Stage editor that will let you make your own layouts for Special Stages in TEA.

    I hope the game new

  8. Hey, long time no see.
How are you going with the fangame?
I’d be happy to see some update

  9. I have a question, how could you implement the control system like in Freedom Planet?

    • Sorry, I’m not interested in Freedom Planet or its control scheme. Also, the development of TEA has been on hiatus for several years, mostly due to the lack of art assets and motivation.

I’ve heard that you haven’t developed TEA in years. Would you say that this game is cancelled? I was really interested in this and I was wondering if I could become a tileset artist.

    • Thanks for the comment.

It’s true that we haven’t worked on TEA for a while, especially after I got into SADX modding (see: Dreamcast Conversion mod). But the game isn’t “officially” cancelled. I’d be glad to revive it since I’ve learned a lot from SADX modding, and some of it would benefit TEA. But yeah, the main roadblock is the graphics, and all my attempts to find a good pixel artist for TEA have been unsuccessful so far.

If you would like to do something for TEA or even become part of the team, that’s always welcome. You can find me on Twitter ( https://twitter.com/pkr_sadx ) or the x-hax server on Discord – https://twitter.com/MainMemory_/status/996513918926323712 . Let’s get in touch over there and see if we can figure something out.

  11. VickDK Says:

    What happened to the project?

    • It’s been on hiatus since 2016 because I couldn’t find a pixel artist to do level art. I have since moved on to Sonic Adventure DX modding.
I tried to commission level art several times but I couldn’t find anyone interested in doing it.

  12. Kiryu Says:

    Hello,
I played through the TEA demo and I have to say I really enjoyed it, though I was disappointed to see it had not been worked on since 2016. I don’t know if there is still any interest in this project but I saw you still needed level art in pixel art form so I was thinking that I could help with that if interested.

    • Hi, thanks for the comment. While I’ve been out of touch with fangaming for several years, I’d be happy to bring back TEA. My friend, who did most of the game’s music and some graphics, is also interested in working on it. How can I get in touch with you? I have an account on Sonic Retro and I’m also on Discord (@PkR#2759).

      • Kiryu Says:

I am on discord. I will send you a friend request. BTW my username is Herb1e#5211

  13. ScaleyFoxy Says:

I just wanna ask if the project file for this game is by any means available as I archive games among other, if not then that is fully understandable, the things I do is very lengthy conversation and here is not a good place for it xD.

    • Hi, sorry for not getting back to you last time.
Everything we wanted to make public is already out there. Source assets and content that didn’t make it to the demos aren’t public and probably won’t be in the observable future.

  14. VickDK Says:

Man, I imagine if I recycled the Beta800 and put it together with the Demo C2 to form a kind of complete TEA demo it would be amazing.
